Essential oils were used by the Egyptians, the Romans, the Greeks the Indians and the Chinese of ancient times. The first uses of essential oils go back to 2000 BC. The oils were used medicinally, for cosmetics and as a perfume. The Bible speaks of using essential oils; such as Myrrh and Frankincense numerous times.

An essential oil is the ‘essence’; a highly concentrated substance extracted from plants and trees. These oils are aromatic and healing to many disorders. With their very small molecules, essential oils are able to penetrate the skin and enter the bloodstream. With their aromas, the essential oils can be inhaled to improve the stress we as people and animals can experience. The oils are not applied directly to the skin because they are so concentrated. The essential oil is added to a base oil such as olive or almond oil; which is the case with Mystic Ranch products. It is the base oil that carries the essential oils into the skin for healing.

All ingredients used are naturally healing and nurturing to the skin, hair and mind. All products are earth friendly.

Lavender: Is antifungal, antiseptic, anti-bacterial, anti-inflammatory and calming.
Rosemary: Is analgesic, antiseptic and astringent. It is also good for sore muscles.
Clary Sage: Is an anti-depressant, anti-anxiety, uplifting, anti-inflammatory as well as benefiting hair and skin.
Patchouli: Is anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, a fungicide and aids in healing dry cracked skin conditions.
Roman Chamomile: Is analgesic, anti-inflammatory and calms the nerves.
Frankincense: Is antiseptic and anti-inflammatory.
Benzoin: Comes from a tree. It is a resin and heals cracked skin, is anti-inflammatory and antiseptic.
Rose Geranium: IIs from the geranium flower and the oil is extracted from the leaves. It is a natural insect repellant, antiseptic, uplifting and balancing.
Calendula: Is anti-bacterial and a fungicide.
Eucalyptus: Is a bug repellant, antiseptic, disinfectant and it is good for healing bug bites and stings.
Bergamot: Is antiseptic, antimicrobial, analgesic and anti-bacterial.
Ylang Ylang: Is antiseptic and calming.

CARRIER OILS AND PLANT EXTRACTS

The pure essential oils chosen for the products are blended in a carrier oil; such as olive oil. Essential oils are so powerful that they should not be applied alone directly to the skin. The carrier oils are vitamin rich and are an added benefit to the skin and hair. Added to the formulations, are plant extracts for their added healing benefits. .

Wheatgerm Oil: Has a high concentration of vitamin E. It penetrates the skin easily so it is very nourishing.
Olive Oil: Is moisturizing and penetrates the skin easily. It is rich in minerals.
Sweet Almond Oil: Nourishes the skin
Beeswax: Only cosmetic grade is used; which means the allergens are removed in processing.
Green Tea Extract: Rich in antioxidants that penetrate the skin.
Chamomile Extract: Beneficial for skin and hair care. It is also antiseptic.
Calendula Extract: Is antibacterial, anti-inflammatory and has anti-oxidant properties.
Hydrolyzed Soy Protein: Nourishing and soothing to the skin.
Aloe Vera: A clear gel-like substance that heals and is soothing to the skin.
DL Panthenol: Nourishes hair, conditions w/o build-up; for skin it moisturizes & sooths irritated skin.
Witch Hazel: It is a soothing astringent for the skin.
